ABSTRACT

Objective To establish the HPLC fingerprint of Xuanbo Shuangsheng Granule for its quality control. Methods The components were separated on an Agilent TC-C18 column (150 mm ×4.6 mm,5 μm) at 25 ℃,with a gradient elution in 0-60 min at the flow rate of 1 mL/min using 0.2% acetic acid aqueous solution and methanol as the mobile phase. The detection wavelength was 278 nm.By detecting 11 batches of Xuanbo Shuangsheng Granule, the HPLC fingerprint was established using Similarity Evaluation System for Chromatographic Fingerprint of TCMs (Version 2004A)and the common peaks were analyzed and identified in raw herbal material. Results The HPLC fingerprint of Xuanbo Shuangsheng Granule was obtained with similarity all over 0.9.Totally 27 common peaks were confirmed, and each common peak could be found in raw herbal medicines.Based on the reference substances,5 common peaks were identified, including phellodendrine (peak 11),liquiritin (peak 22),angoroside C (peak 25),cinnamic acid (peak 26) and harpagoside (peak 27).Conclusions This method is simple, accurate, repeatable and reliable, which could be applied in the quality control of Xuanbo Shuangsheng Granule.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To understand the situation of essential medicines and promote their rational use in our hospital. METHODS:The prescription variety and cost percentages of essential medicines in outpatient department in the two halves years of 2013 in our hospital(eye and ENT specialized hospitals)were compared;the medicines with forefront prescription kind percent-ages in eye and ENT departments were sorted and rankings in 4 quarters were compared. RESULTS:After the approval of the Na-tional Essential Medicine List(2012 edition),compared with the first half year of 2013,prescription variety and cost percentages of essential medicines in outpatient department in the second half year were significantly increased (P<0.01). Prescription variety and cost percentages of essential medicines in eye department in the second half year were significantly increased(P<0.01),in the top 20 prescription variety, totally 2 kinds were contained by the list 2012 edition and 3 were contained by the supplementary list of Shanghai(2012 edition). Compared with the first half year of 2013,prescription variety and cost percentages of essential medi-cines in ENT department in the second half year were significantly decreased(P<0.01),the cost percentage was significantly in-creased(P<0.01),in the top 20 prescription variety, totally 2 kinds were contained by the list 2012 edition and 3 were contained by the supplementary list of Shanghai (2012 edition). CONCLUSIONS:The prescription variety and cost percentages of essential medicines in our hospital show increase trend. Nevertheless, the non-essential medicines are still dominant and further improvement of essential medicines is still needed. Medicine variety and dosage forms of eye in ENT department are insufficient concluded in Es-sential Medicine List. Further adjustment of Essential Medicine List still needs more consideration for the medication characteristics in specialized hospital.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the variation of coagulation markers and its clinical value in type 2 diabetes patients. Methods The plasma levels of von Willebrand factor: antigen (vWF: Ag), thrombomodulin (TM), prothrombin fragment 1+2 (F 1+2 ) and P selectin were measured by ELISA in 65 patients with type 2 diabetes (including 33 patients with vascular complication) and 38 healthy people. Results The plasma level of vWF:Ag, TM, F 1+2 and P selectin in group of type 2 diabetes were significantly higher than that of normal controls ( P

ABSTRACT

Objective To ascertain whether the growth inhibitor in conditioned medium from cultured rabbit arte rial cells is distinct from TGF-β. Methods Rabbit aortic smooth muscle ceils were grown from explained segments of the aorta. Conditioned medium from cultured rabbit aortic smooth muscle ceils and anti-TGF-β were employed in this study. Smooth muscle cell proliferation was measured by XTT detection (Boehringer Mannheim). Results Acidified conditioned medium from smooth muscle ceils had significantly stronger effects of growth inhibition than controls, and anti-TGF-β did not affect the growth inhibitory effect of conditioned medium from cultured rabbit arterial smooth muscle cells. Conclusion The growth inhibiting substance in conditioned medium from cultured rabbit aortic smooth muscle cells is distinct from TGF-β.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To develop an RP-HPLC method to determine the camphor in Bohenao zhangnao nose drops. METHODS:The HPLC separation was carried out on a Supelcosil C18(150 mm?4.6 mm,5 ?m) column. The mobile phase consisted of methanol-water(70∶30) at a flow rate of 1 mL?min-1.The column temperature was 25 ℃ and the detective wa-velength was set at 289 nm. The content was computed using external standard method. RESULTS:The linear range of cam-phor was 0.1~1 mg?mL-1(r=0.999 8) with recovery rate ranged from 100% to 103%(RSD

ABSTRACT

The protective effect of selenium ( Se ) on cobalt cardiomyopathy was investigated in rats given cobalt chloride ( 5 mg/kg?d-1?7 i.p.). Pretreatment of Se (50 ?g/kg?d-1 ?14 i.p.) could protect the myocardium injured by Co as demonstrated by the decrease in plasma CPK and GOT activities and absence of histopathologic abnormalities. Se contents in hearts and the cardiac glutathione peroxidase activity were increased, but the level of lipid peroxide in the heart was unaltered after i.p. Se. As compared with the Co group rats, SDH reaction was increased in intensity, lipid staining and free fatty acid contents in myocardium of the Se + Co group were decreased to the normal extent, indicating that the protective effect of Se appeared to be related to the prevention of the cobalt-induced inhibition of SDH and disturbance of lipid metabolism in the heart.
